Dr. Mead is the co-founder and Medical Director of Tompkins TMS. An Ithaca native, he has been practicing medicine locally since 2001 and remains deeply connected to the community he grew up in.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Mead also serves as the Medical Director of Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services (CARS). His decades of experience in both general medicine and addiction treatment have given him a unique perspective on how mental health and physical health are deeply intertwined.
Through Tompkins TMS, Dr. Mead combines his medical expertise with a commitment to bringing advanced, evidence-based treatments for depression to the local community. His vision is to expand access to innovative care in Ithaca and provide patients with new possibilities for healing and recovery.
Sara is the co-founder and inspiration behind Tompkins TMS. Having personally navigated the challenges of mental health, she is deeply committed to helping others find a path to healing and hope. Her vision for Tompkins TMS grew from the belief that accessing care should feel compassionate, approachable, and empowering.
At Tompkins TMS, Sara focuses on creating a welcoming experience for every patient. From the first call to the last treatment session, she ensures that each individual feels supported and understood. She works closely with the clinical team to guide patients through insurance, scheduling, and treatment logistics, making the journey as seamless as possible.
Sara is passionate about breaking down barriers to care and reminding patients that they are not alone. Her lived experience and dedication are at the heart of what makes Tompkins TMS a place of both professional expertise and genuine compassion.
